The Oort Room

About The Oort Room

The Oort Room is a small fiction-and-music page by DHSeaDev: a lamp-lit bar inside a dark comet, with a host, a bartender, a DJ and a ledger-reading moth.

What is The Oort Room?

It is one page you scroll down, a short serial story and six doors. The scenes, the starfield, the comet and the room are drawn by code from fixed seeds. The music is synthesized in your browser, off by default.

Who runs it?

It is made and maintained by Donnie Harding as part of DHSeaDev, an independent studio that ships Chrome extensions, browser games and small tools. The characters are invented for this page.

What can I do here?

Read the Registrar's ledger of recent posts, read chapter one, turn on the music, pause the motion, and take any of the six doors to real projects: the free browser arcade, the project list, writing, plain answers, an AI that answers questions about the site, and a game and a card maker built around a prism.

Does it track me?

This page sets no cookies and loads no analytics, advertising or third-party scripts. It keeps three small things in your own browser, and nowhere else: whether you muted or paused things, the dates of your visits so the back door can open after three separate nights, and a note that you have seen the opening light. Links to dhseadev.online carry a utm_source=lounge tag so the main site can count arrivals from here.

Is every visitor served the same page?

Yes. People, readers and declared crawlers receive the same page at the same address. Nothing here changes by browser or visitor type.

How do I follow the story?

Chapter one, The Lamp, is published. More chapters will be added only when they are written.
